Corinthian's A Winner!  by Bill Lewis

Wow! great sailing and superb accomodations were the qualities of our recent cruise to the Corinthian Yacht Club. Dockage was free and it's a 2-minute walk to downtown Tiburon.

All of the attendees sailed in - including new members Gary and Lydia Osias on Voyager. We were 12 for dinner and the YC's dining room was very upscale - but not pricey. Menu items included filet mignon, scallops and Kobe Beef hamburgers. Sailing both ways was exciting and a persistent fog bank made things interesting (have to remember to bring my GPS next time). BJ and Amy Blackburn-our hosts, offered to make it a yearly event.

Our previously unmentioned attendees were Dave and Roberta Johnson, Hugh and Joann Linn and Bill and Chris Lewis. Tim and Brenda McGinty were supposed to join us, but were unable to make it - sorry guys.

Angel Island September 10-11

The August cruise to Oakland did not occur. Several of our Fleet had conflicting vacation plans. But, hey, we have an opportunity to re-connect in Ayala Cove on September 10 for hiking and picnicking and lounging on our yachts. If you have an older boat (like me), you probably don't mind if other E-27's raft up with you. If you have a newer, more expensive yacht, chances are you will not want other boats rolling their dirty fenders up and down your hull. Anyway, I hope to be there for the occasion if I can get a crew.

This is usually a BBQ with shared side dishes. The Fleet furnishes the BBQ fixings and we bring salads, appetizers and desserts. I hope we get a sizeable turn-out. If you are planning to cruise in and eat, let Amy Blackburn know by September 4. email amyblack2000@earthlink.net.

Currently, there is no cruise planned for October. We could re-schedule Oakland or try Coyote Point. Let me know if there is any interest in either site - or- maybe you have another suggestion. I'm up for anything mxbag@comcast.net.
